Our annual Refugee Day event will celebrate all the refugee and migrant communities that make Calthorpe.

This event will will raise funds for our partner organisation Food for the Homeless who cook meals weekly at Calthorpe. Food for the Homeless is founded by Malihe Sadeghipour who has lived experience of homelessness and comes form a refugee background. Malihe will be selling food from 12:00-15:00.

The events of the day include:

12:00 - 12:45 - performance from a Ukranian children's choir

13:30 - 15:00 Macrame workshop from Families 4 Peace

15:00 - 17:00 Sri Lankan food cooked by Akram

15:00 - 16:00 Grand Union Orchestra performance

We will have participation from other refugee organisations including Health Prom, Families 4 Peace, Hibiscus. We are also supporting independent refugee chefs throughout our summer programme of future events.
