Light Up Kilburn 2026 returns to Kilburn Grange Park for its second edition, following the success of the inaugural 2024 festival. This family-friendly celebration of light, sound and creativity will transform the park into a captivating experience, featuring inspiring artworks by local artists, illuminated trails, soundscapes, and interactive activations.

The festival will explore the biodiversity of Kilburn Grange Park, highlight the importance of women’s safety at night in the surrounding areas, and encourage local communities to come together through a shared sensory experience. We will also be working with local schools to deliver creative workshops, giving young people the chance to engage with the festival and contribute to its artistic programme.

Building on the legacy of 2024, Light Up Kilburn 2026 promises a magical winter experience for visitors of all ages, celebrating creativity, community and connection.

1. What is Light Up Kilburn?

Light Up Kilburn is a free family‑friendly festival of light, sound and creativity. The park is transformed with illuminated artworks, soundscapes, projections and interactive installations created by local and London‑based artists.

27th & 28th February 2026
5pm – 9pm (last entry recommended no later than 8:30pm)

Kilburn Grange Park, London NW6 2JL

4. Is the event free?

Yes! Light Up Kilburn is completely free to attend and open to all ages.

5. Do I need to book tickets?

No booking is required. You can arrive anytime between 5–9pm.

6. Is the event suitable for children?

Absolutely. This is a family‑friendly festival with accessible installations and performances suitable for all ages.

7. What can I expect to see?

Highlights include:

  • Light projections exploring local biodiversity

  • Interactive sound and light installations

  • Neon artworks themed around women’s safety at night

  • UV community‑created artworks

  • Fire performances in the play park

  • Live activations of “Basstone Maypole” and “Spectral Wardrobe”

8. Are there live performances?

Yes—scheduled performances include the below (no booking required):

  • Fire Performances: 6:30–7pm & 7:30–8pm (Play Park)

  • Spectral Wardrobe Activation: 6–6:30pm

  • Basstone Maypole: 6pm, 7pm & 8pm

9. Are there food or drink options onsite?

Yes, a food stall will be available inside the park (location marked on the map).

10. Are there toilets?

Yes. Toilets and accessible toilets are available onsite and clearly signposted.

11. Is the event accessible?

The trail is step‑free and suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Accessible toilets and support staff are available.

12. Is the event outdoors? Should I dress warmly?

Yes. The entire festival takes place outdoors. We recommend warm clothing, waterproofs, and sensible footwear.

13. Can I bring my dog?

Well‑behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but please be aware of lights, crowds and soundscapes which may overstimulate some dogs.

14. How do I get there?

Nearby stations include:

  • Brondesbury (Overground) – 3 min walk

  • Kilburn (Jubilee) – 7 min walk

  • Kilburn High Road (Overground) – 10 min walk

  • West Hampstead (National Rail / Jubilee) – 10 min walk
    Limited parking is available—public transport is strongly encouraged.

15. Is photography allowed?

Yes! You’re encouraged to take photos/videos and share them.
