Henry Croft, the first Pearly King, was born in St Pancras Workhouse in 1861. This year, on the official birthday of King Charles III, be A Space for Us People's Museum will be celebrating over 160 years of an alternative royal tradition — one that began in Somers Town.

It will begin with family activities at the Story Garden. A Pearly Sari made specially for the fair will be the centre of the Pearly Parade that will move from Story Garden to the Museum, bringing together the cultures! At the museum you will celebrate with Bangladeshi food, drinks and a performance from special guest Kate Garner, daughter of Chas from Chas 'n Dave, who will lead us in an old-fashioned singalong at the piano.

Agenda:

11am - Family activities at the Story Garden

1pm - Pearly Parade from the Story Garden to the People’s Museum with Pearly Sari

2pm - Piano Singalong with Kate Garner (daughter of Chas from Chas n Dave) with Joe Whitney at MUSEUM.

Bangaldeshi Food & drinks will be served outside the museum.
