Nikolas Wereszczyński is a London-based Polish artist specialising in gouache painting and printmaking. His work is largely informed by elements of traditional folk culture (particularly Polish) and their connection to animism and folk beliefs, and he enjoys creating contemplative pieces that allow for a felt, rather than an intellectual experience of his pieces.

Camden Trans Folk Project (commissioned by Love Camden) is a project aiming to explore and document the lives of Trans people within the context of folk culture; with traditional folk culture being an area in which the Trans community is often erased, the works are a clear statement: we exist as part of the past and we will continue to exist as part of the future. The works are based on the submissions sent in by Trans individuals with connections to Camden as well as the artist’s own experiences and reflections.

Nikolas’ work will be displayed in the atrium poster spaces at Swiss Cottage Library from 1 February 2026.
