The Sociological Review Foundation Public Lecture with Angela Saini

Wednesday 2nd September 2026, 6pm - 10pm

SOAS University of London, 10 Thornhaugh St, London WC1H 0XG

£46.00

Spend an evening in the company of Angela Saini, one of the UK's most important voices in science writing, who will discuss how gender, race and history continue to shape our lives.

Angela will be sharing findings from her forthcoming book, Other, which looks at the strange and growing obsession with sex and race classification. While we tick sex, gender, race and ethnicity boxes as automatically as we drink water, these categories were specifically designed to divide, rule and oppress.

The lecture promises to be a hugely insightful and entertaining evening in support of the Foundation and its work showcasing sociology as a powerful tool for understanding and changing the world around us.
