Nowruz Exhibition: The Boy on the Peacock Throne: A Memoir in Images E

This exhibition is based on The Boy on the Peacock Throne, an illustrated memoir by Mehrdad Aref-Adib about growing up in Iran before and after the 1979 Revolution.

The works presented are screen prints drawn from the book. They record moments from childhood and early life, set against the political and social changes of the period. The images are visual recollections shaped by distance and time. The exhibition moves between domestic space and public history. Mehrdad Aref-Adib is an artist, curator, and writer based in London. He studied fine art at St Martins and Winchester School of Art, completed European Art studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona, and undertook postgraduate study at the London College of Printing. His practice spans graphic design, television, web projects, and award-winning blogging.

His current practice focuses on digital and mixed-media work and the curation of cultural and art events, including the Nowruz Festival at Lauderdale House, presented here for the third consecutive year.
