Delving into the fascinating interplay between abstraction and language, ¿ھاه Huh הא 뭐? Come Again? explores how language can be dissolved into elementary forms of shape, colour, and sound.

Through gestures, notes, and sound symbolism, this collection of works suggests different mediums of communication beyond linguistic structures. The exhibition is based on two community workshops held with students from Swiss Cottage and Kilburn Library’s ESOL (English Speakers for Other Languages) courses, where handwritten notes and audio recordings interpreting abstract artworks from the Camden Art Collection were produced.

These interpretations inspired the commissioned works of three emerging artists, Kiara Doshi, Amber Hynam, and Gaiazzurra Moreno-Meldru. Accompanying these compositions is a range of abstract works from the Camden Art Collection, including pieces by Robert Adams, Herbert Bayer, Sandra Blow, Mario Dubsky, Adrian Heath, Tess Jaray, Kim Lim, Eduardo Paolozzi, and Victor Pasmore.
