This discussion inspired by Gill Ord’s exhibition Connections and Conversations, invites participants into the rich space where art-making meets activism, politics, and lived experience.

Rooted in the artist’s process of distillation—where memories, residencies, and everyday encounters are brought back into the studio and transformed through the layering of paint — the session explores how creative practice can hold energy, tension, and resistance.

We will consider how artworks can remain open rather than instructive, offering room for complexity, uncertainty, and personal interpretation.

Reflecting Ord’s own connection to place and community, the discussion creates a space for conversation about identity, activism, and the tangled lines we each navigate.
