In collaboration with Mansa hArts, the National Institute for African Studies, The New Black Film Collective and Libra Health Systems, HELLO LOVE is excited to host a screening Sountrack to a Coup d'Etat.

The film takes the viewer on a journey Jazz and decolonization that are entwined in this historical rollercoaster that rewrites the Cold War episode that led musicians Abbey Lincoln and Max Roach to crash the UN Security Council in protest against the murder of Patrice Lumumba.

The screening will be coupled with an artist showcase of Stella B's work of Patrice & Pauline Lumumba and Kimpa Vita; a spoken word performance by Nat Nye, the Lyrical Alkhemist, in honour of Lumumba and an open discussion about the film afterwards moderated by Trevor Hakim.
