Gill Ord makes paintings in her London studio that emerge from observations and experiences, time spent visiting places that include her native North East of England, where industry and nature meet and also internationally, on residencies and artist-run workshops.

These works contain references to structures and atmosphere, using colour and shape. The paintings in the gallery and the work in the vitrines bring together slowly made painting, and fast observational drawing. All of her work is informed by artistic and political engagement and International dialogue with artist networks and communities.

Gill Ord lives on The Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate in Swiss Cottage.
