BMT Proud To Be and CrossWord Lyric present a day of cultural storytelling workshops culminating in an evening spoken word showcase.

BMT Proud To Be teams up with CrossWord Lyric for a transformative Black History celebration that explores Camden's rich multicultural tapestry. Join acclaimed storyteller and host Fusion alongside spoken word artist and community producer Millie-Rose for this unique experience celebrating the diverse voices that make Camden extraordinary.

Dive deep into the cultural heritage that shapes our borough - from Somalia's beautiful tradition as the "land of poets" to the rhythm and revelry of Caribbean culture, and discover the remarkable diversity that has enriched London for over 2,000 years. Through interactive workshops, participants will explore their own cultural roots, craft personal spoken word pieces inspired by lived experiences, languages, dialects, food traditions, and travel stories.

The day culminates in an evening showcase where selected participants perform alongside established poets and musicians in a celebration of Camden's storytelling legacy. All pieces will contribute to a growing digital archive documenting our community's incredible stories from around the world.

Whether you're discovering spoken word for the first time or looking to develop your performance skills, this event offers tools for life-long creative expression while celebrating the awesome everyday stories of our diverse community.

You can book for one or both elements of this day - to be a participant in the workshop and/or to attend the live performance in the evening
