We are delighted to be hosting London Drawing artist and expert printmaker Sisetta Zappone for an introductory workshop to woodcut printing this spring.

Woodblock printing is one of the simplest ways that images have been reproduced, but also a wonderfully expressive medium still used in art and craft today. Books in the spectacular RCP Heritage Library use woodblocks to illustrate the human body, plants, animals, science, technology, poetry and more.

Use these rare treasures as inspiration for this hands-on workshop, carve your own design and create beautiful prints to take home. The event includes an introduction to exhibition ‘A body of knowledge’ and the history of this printing technique. Refreshments and all materials will be provided. No experience necessary!
