An unforgettable weekend! Celebrating Light Up Kilburn 2026

Two magical evenings in the heart of Kilburn
A spectacular celebration of light, creativity and community

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Kilburn Grange Park for Light Up Kilburn 2026. Following the huge success of the inaugral festival in 2024, we were overjoyed to bring this wonderful light festival back and delighted with the response. Over 1,500 people came together across the two evenings to celebrate light, creativity and community — and the atmosphere felt truly special.

  • When: 27th and 28th February 2026

  • Where: Kilburn Grange Park

The park was filled with families, friends and neighbours enjoying the illuminated trails and performances. Children ran and played beneath glowing installations, laughter carried through the air, and there was a real sense of warmth, peace and joyfulness in the heart of Kilburn. It was a beautiful reminder of what shared cultural moments can create.

Light Up Kilburn 2026 felt even more special as it followed the launch of the Love Camden Cultural Strategy 2026–2031 and marked Kilburn’s exciting new chapter as a Neighbourhood of Culture. The festival set the tone for what’s to come — placing creativity, community and shared experiences at the heart of our local vision for the next five years.

It was a truly magical weekend, and we are so grateful to the artists, partners, schools, performers and volunteers who helped bring it to life — and to every single person who came along and made it so vibrant.

And the celebration doesn’t end here. In the coming months, we’ll be delivering a series of legacy workshops, giving local residents further opportunities to connect with artists, develop new skills and continue the creative conversations sparked during the festival.

Thank you, Kilburn. ✨

Did you join us? We'd love to hear from you.

The amazing artists and their artworks

From immersive projections and interactive installations to live performances and moments of reflection, each artwork transformed the park after dark. The feedback we received was amazing — so many of you told us how magical, uplifting and inspiring the experience felt.

Live performances

Throughout the evening we had a range of fantastic live performances and interactive activities - we had:

The Fireworks Collective brought huge excitement, with cheers from children ringing out across the park. The energy and buzz around these fire performances were amazing — gasps, applause and glowing faces lit up the night.

Spectral Wardrobe Activation by Auda Sakho was an eye-catching highlight. Inspired by plant cells, spirulina and leaf fibres, the glowing textile-like projections celebrated the park’s biodiversity while acting as symbolic beacons of safety for women and marginalised communities. The piece beautifully merged ecology, care and belonging through light.

🎶 Basstone Maypole by Linett Kamala was a true family favourite. Blending tradition, technology and celebration, it created a joyful gathering point for reflection and play. Families laughed, danced and joined spontaneous circles around the illuminated Maypole — no experience needed — making it one of the most uplifting moments of the weekend.

Thank you to our partners and supporters
