Camden Short Film Fund Applications Open!

Applications open for Born By A River’s Open Frame: Camden Short Film Fund
The tailored programme assists an early-career filmmaker or selected filmmaking team to produce a bold, author-driven short fiction project with funding and resource support from production company Born By A River and industry project partners.
Supported by the Future Camden Fund, Open Frame is searching for passionate storytelling with social and cultural impact, attentive to topics related to diasporas, disabilities, gender and sexualities. The selected work will be made in the context of a live research project seeking to address underrepresentation in above-the-line and below-the-line leadership roles in film, whilst testing methods to improve inclusion, accessibility, and wellbeing across crew positions.
To apply:
At least one member of the core filmmaking team (writer, director or producer) must identify as Black British and at the intersection of disability/neurodivergence and/or an underrepresented gender/sexuality.
At least one member of the core filmmaking team must have a connection to the London Borough of Camden, or the proposed project has a substantial and meaningful connection to the borough.
You have availability to go into production in early 2026 and complete post-production by the end of March 2026.
Applications will close on Wednesday 3 December 2025. Applicants will need to submit a script and a director’s treatment as part of their submission.
