As part of Lauderdale House's Nowruz celebrations, their galleries showcase the work of a number of Iranian artists across two exhibitions!

The Lower Gallery features the Nowruz exhibition, focussing on the historical significance of the Persian New Year. Illuminating the rich tapestry of Iranian culture, it features captivating pictorial displays. Beyond its visual appeal, the exhibition functions as a bridge, fostering cultural ties between diverse communities.

After exploring the works downstairs, step into 'Paradise' in the Upper Gallery! This exhibition is an enchanting voyage into the enduring allure and opulent legacy of the paradise garden—a venerable Iranian masterpiece that transcends cultural boundaries. Emerging during the Achaemenid period in Iran, these enclosed, formal, and symmetrical gardens serve as a testament to the meticulous design and artistic brilliance of ancient Iranian horticulturists. The term 'Paradise' traces its origins to the Persian word 'pardis,' capturing the essence of both paradise and walled gardens. The enclosed garden is not merely a physical expanse; it is a manifestation of paradise, embodying associations with bliss and perfection.

Artists for the exhibition include Babak Kazemi, Pargol E.naloo, Neda Dana-Haeri, Anahita Rezvanirad, Farkhondeh Ahmadzadeh, Saadi Haeri, Mariam Tafsiri and Mehrdad Aref-Adib.
