Camden is open for business The Camden Events Service supports community, corporate and private events in the Borough. The events service offers a number of non-traditional, experiential and street locations as well as many indoor venues.

Our parks, open spaces and venues can accommodate corporate team building days, conferences, exhibitions, comedy nights, parties, weddings, exams, seminars and training. The events team are experienced in managing small and large scale events. Our spaces include:

You can now  apply you can now make an applicaition using our new online booking system EVENT APP.

Please note once you register, you will not have to do it every time you make a new application as details are held on the system.

Also note when you now register, you do NOT need to send us all health and safety and Public Liability documents at the same time now. They can be uploaded as you go along with your event planning

If you have already applied on our previous form and submitted all your documents to us you may not need to reapply on the new system this time. Please confirm with us by emailing events@camden.gov.uk

Event Management Service

We can provide a dedicated event manager who will work closely with you throughout the planning and delivery process to bring your event to life. Events managers are experienced in corporate sports days, fun days and company picnics.

Fees and Charges

If you are a businesses or commercial events organisers, there is an approved list fees and charges to hire space in Camden parks open spaces and for use of the public realm.

Fees and charges are dependent on:

  • The venue
  • Length of time on site (half day or full day)
  • Numbers attending (for example 0-100, 100-500, over 500)
  • Additional licensing of requirements such as road closure and parking.

Community delivered non-profit making events may qualify for our reduced rates. Read the criteria to see if you qualify

Our Community Festival Funding Grant scheme cancels out all payable fees and charges apart from statutory licenses.

Where can I promote my event?

Love Camden promotes all events taking place in the borough as well as organisations and businesses that are based in Camden. Register and add your event/business/company to Love Camden website

Queens Platinum Jubilee Street Parties

If you are looking to host a street party in recognition of the Queens Platinum Jubilee over the weekend of June 3rd to the 6th, Camden events team are here to help, as a one stop shop for events we are the only point of contact that you will need.

Please find below answers to common questions raised

Road closure 

We can no longer accept Road closure requests for Jubilee Street Parties in June 2022.

Insurance

You will need a Public Liability insurance to hold an event in public. Please contact the events team for advice if you are not sure.

Parking suspensions

You do not need to pay for parking for the Jubilee celebrations.

Licensing for events

If you are holding an event in open space that has any of the following you will be required to obtain the correct licenses by law.

The supply of Alcohol and or Regulated entertainment (such as live music or film) at an event with no more than 499 people will require a TEN (Temporary event notice).

Apply for a TEN

The supply of Alcohol, and/or Regulated entertainment (such as live music or film) at an event with more than 499 people will require at Premises license.

These licenses must be obtained from Camden's Licensing team and charges will apply.

If you are holding a commercial ticketed event that involves live music, and/or background music, you are required to obtain a PRS license from the Performing rights society.

If you are having traders at your event or running a brand activation such as leafleting in the streets, or trading in any way, you will require a Traders license, which is granted by the events team.

Road closures and temporary traffic restrictions 

Road closures and parking suspensions in the public realm for events are fully managed by the events team within your event application.


Please note that we require a minimum of eight weeks’ notice to close roads and two weeks for parking suspensions to allow for public notification of the events taking place. When making your application please be as accurate as you can with locations.

2020 has been a very hard year for those looking to hold events, and virtual events, meetings, conferences and festivals are becoming popular.

Light and Hope

This year has brought grief, loss and uncertainty to many across Camden. Our virtual Light and Hope memorial brings us together to reflect, remember and honour those who have lost their lives to Covid 19.

We welcome contributions from all faiths and none, so that we can learn and understand how others cope with their loss and grief. We would very much appreciate it if you would take the opportunity to share your tributes and memories.
