The World Reimagined

13 August – 31 October 2022
From Camden to Westminster, this trail of large globe sculptures will transform how we think about the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans.
Even today, we only know part of this history. The World Reimagined will share the unheard stories and fill in the blanks. It will remind us all, that it's not just ‘Black History’, it’s all our history.
This national art education project is based on nine themes, from ‘Mother Africa’ to ‘Reimagine the Future’. Together, they create a journey of discovery. A welcome chance to reimagine our past, our present, and our future.
Here in Camden, eleven artists have each created a globe in response to this challenge. We hope these artworks will make people think again and spark debate. Let’s talk about our shared history, racial justice, and what it means to be British. With recent events in mind, there’s no time like the present…

The World Reimagined is taking place in seven British cities, including London, Liverpool, Leeds, Leicester, Swansea, Bristol, and Birmingham.
