Top 30 things in Camden: KOKO

Born as The Camden Theatre in 1900, Koko’s walls have seen some of the biggest names in history. Charlie Chaplin performed here regularly when it was still called The Camden Hippodrome and the Rolling Stones shook the stage many years later. In 1970, the venue became a place at the heart of punk music history. The Sex Pistols, Iron Maiden, the Clash, Grace Jones, the Cure, Madonna, you name it. The whole of music history played, and is still playing, right here.

In 2010 KOKO hosted a fundraiser for the Institute of Contemporary Arts featuring a performance Lily Allen and Bryan Ferry and attended by Vivienne Westwood, Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.

Its current line-up has included big names such as Oasis, Bruno Mars, Thom Yorke, Amy Winehouse, La Roux, Skrillex, Lady Gaga, The Killers,Kanye West, Katy Perry, Lily Allen, Demi Lovato, Usher, Noel Gallagher and Swedish House Mafia.

So if you’re up for dancing the night away while singing every tune, KOKO is your destination tonight!
