Kentish Town & Gospel Oak

Once rural areas, Gospel Oak and Kentish Town are now upcoming urban sites brimming with possibilities. Whether it is pubs, music or fitness that you want; here you can find it all.

Kentish Town is an upcoming area full of interesting shops, eateries, trendy bars and music. Camden’s musical legacy was partly developed in Kentish Town as it was once the place to buy a piano or organ. This legacy lives on with many bars hosting bands regularly, including the renowned The Forum. Have some pre-drinks at the Rose and Crown pub, or better yet – some cocktails at Ladies and Gents, in an old underground loo. Food lovers should check out the organic food shops along Kentish Town Road. But it’s not all music and organic food shops – some of the streets off the main drag are little treasures, showcasing some of the best terraces in London. It also hosts a selection of independent stores that are unique and give the area a real local flavour.

Gospel Oak is an up and coming urban area. The area’s name derives from an oak tree under which parishioners gathered to hear an annual gospel reading when the area was still rural. Today Gospel Oak is part of an on-going regeneration project. Some of its attractions include the historic Queen’s Crescent market, the Kentish Town city farm and the outdoor gym in Lismore circus.
