Your information – your security
It has come to our attention that residents have been receiving telephone calls from individuals pretending to be Council Officers. They have been asking residents to provide their personal bank details in order that they can claim a council tax refund, or ask you for money to check your council tax band.
We never ring residents to ask for or confirm bank details unless we have agreed to do so in advance. We will only take them when customers call us to set up a direct debit or discuss their account which leads to a direct debit arrangement.
BACS, telephone or internet banking and international payments
You can pay your Council Tax by bank transfer. You must use your account reference number as the reference for your payment.

At the post office
There is no longer a charge for paying your council tax at a Post Office branch.
To ensure that you do not get charged for this service, you will need to bring with you your letter, which we recently sent out to you. The letter contains your new Post Office barcode, which you will need to make a payment.
If you did not receive a letter or have misplaced it then please contact the council tax team on 020 7974 6470 and they will arrange for a new bill to be sent to you.
All other payment methods, including via PayPoint agents, remain unchanged.
If you have any questions please check our council tax pages or you can phone us on 020 7974 6470.
Please always allow adequate time for your payment to reach your account by the due date.
In most cases instalments must be received by the first day of every month, from April to January.
PayPoint
You can pay your Council Tax at a PayPoint with cash. Payments of up to £200 can be made at a Paypoint.
By post
Please do not send cheques by post.
You can still pay your Council Tax using cheques or cash at the post office with your barcode.
