Black Mary Project Open Day

Come along to Calthorpe Community Gardens and find out all about The Black Mary Project

The project is set to launch Summer 2024, as part of the Mayor of London's Untold Stories initative. Black women artists and the community are imaginatively reimagining a local 17th century healing well once said to be run by a Black woman, Mary Woollaston. 

Get first look at the plans for a new Healing Garden, hear about the original research that charts the fascinating buried history, create your own Healing Symbol for a new artwork and join a special interactive Healing Tour that culminates at the site of Black Mary’s Hole.

And if you have your own healing practice, find out how you can get further involved.

Drop-in is 1:30pm to 5:30pm, tour is 3pm to 4:30pm.
