'New Bloomsbury Set' Writers of Colour Digital Book Club

Online event Digital bookclub Global literature

The Book Club is hosted by Tamera Heron, a freelance writer and digital storyteller, as part of the Bloomsbury Festival's New Bloomsbury Set project.

We will feature books by authors from around the world written in English or translated into English. Some of the books may have links to the Bloomsbury area of London. We will be inviting some authors to attend sessions and featuring a different book each session, encouraging you to post your own reviews of the books on social media and we will share news and insights via a regular newsletter.

Our aim is to explore the cultural and literary heritage of twentieth and twenty-first century global literature, and be particularly relevant to young people from Bloomsbury and beyond of British, South & East Asian, African and Caribbean heritage.

The Digital Book Club welcomes people of all ages (14+) and backgrounds who would like to join our Bloomsbury based network.

Featured book for 18 October: Black Cake (2022) by Caribbean-American author Charmaine Wilkerson (novel).
