Highgate Cemetery
Not for the faint-hearted among us, give yourself a spook by visiting Highgate cemetery to see if you can find all the famous people buried there. Expect to see Karl Marx, George Eliot and Douglas Adams to name but a few. And, if you’re a fan of Audrey Niffenegger’s novel Her Fearful Symmetry, you’ll be please to know that the story is set in this very cemetery. Open 10am weekdays and 11am weekends, closing at 5pm (4pm in British winter). Entry: £3 per adult, £2 for students.
