Thornton's Budgens
At Thornton’s Budgens we are passionate about our food and really believe that our relationship with food should be a joyful part of our lives.
We aspire to help you celebrate that relationship through a more pleasurable and sustainable approach to food; whether that’s through our passion for local food, our deli counters or our desire to make good food affordable, it’s what we care about.
We firmly believe that just as food is such a central part of our lives, so too our food stores should be a central part of our community
We also aspire to ensure that every shopping experience in our stores is a pleasure for our customers. We know that this is not always the case and are working hard with our team to deliver this day in day out.

I've been very pleased with

I've been very pleased with the improvements to my local Belsize Park supermarket in recent years. Lots of interesting products from small local companies as well as a good range of Fairtrade products - bananas, teas and coffees, honey, marmalade, sugar (even before Tate & Lyle became Fairtrade), muesli (from Alara near St Pancras) and chocolate including Divine which has its HQ in London but is 45% owned by farmers in Ghana.
Our Belsize Budgen's is also great for its work in the community - not least in bringing us back our long lost Post Office services. They work with the Simon Community to put surplus food to good use feeding homeless people in their local shelter. And they get involved with local groups like Transition Belsize on projects and events as well as making generous contributions to local schools and various organisations over the festive season.
They're good at special promotions too. We've just had Valentine's Day of course and I'm looking forward to their annual display for Fairtrade Fortnight (28/2 - 13/3) involving artwork from the Rosary School.
