With live musicians, sports tournaments, circus skill workshops and children's rides there's something for the whole family to enjoy.

Location: 45 Ashdown Crescent, London, NW5 4QE

Ahmed Wardere, office and front-line services manager for Queen's Crescent Community Association gave us the lowdown on the festival.

What are the highlights of this year’s fair?

Every year, Queen’s Crescent Community Association (QCCA) organise the Queen’s Crescent Festival, which attracts up to 5,000 local residents. The event brings together people of ages and backgrounds to enjoy a 5-hour live performance of local musicians, a parade, sports tournaments, taster sessions in different exercise routines, arts and crafts workshops, children’s rides and food stalls representing a diversity of cultures. There are also plenty of stalls selling everything from trinkets and jewellery to specialist crafts by local artisans.

This year’s theme will be “Queen’s Crescent: a Better Future” and will provide opportunities for improving health through exercise and sport, access to education and employment support. The theme reflects the many difficult issues facing the community, including unemployment and economic uncertainty. In addition to our usual activities, we will be offering local people information on where to access new educational opportunities and employment support. We aim to lift the spirits of local people during a challenging period by opening doors to new opportunities, broadening horizons and reaching out to the many services available in the community.

What can people do on the day?

You can volunteer as a steward on the day or perform on stage, we need performers, musicians or dancers who would like to perform at this year’s festival. We will also be hiring out stalls to anyone who wishes to promote their business or organisation.

What’s your most memorable festival experience to date?

Last year’s festival was one of the most memorable festivals to date. We expect this year’s will be even more memorable. In addition to our usual activities, we will be offering local people information on where to access new educational opportunities and employment support. We aim to lift the spirits of local people during a challenging period by opening doors to new opportunities, broadening horizons and reaching out to the many services available in the community.
