Our guest blog this week is from Maxine Stonehill, organiser of the Pop-up Vintage fair.

Pop-up Vintage Fairs London are held monthly in Hampstead at two different venues: the Hampstead Town Hall, and St Stephen’s Rosslyn Hill.

Our next fair is on 30 October in Hampstead. It will feature some of the best vintage traders selling ladies’, men’s and even children’s vintage clothing, vintage and handmade jewellery, homeware, ephemera, antiques, collectables and much more.

The date range is from early 20th century right up to the 1980s. Yes, clothes from the 80s are now very sought after and considered vintage, so dig out your neon leg warmers! The 40s style is also making a comeback this autumn, so where better to find an original 40s dress, shoes, or handbag than at one of our fairs. Men are also catered for at their next fair, where we will have a stall dedicated to men’s vintage fashion and accessories.

I think that vintage fairs have grown in popularity due to the blandness of the high street, with the same shops in every town. Judging by the numbers flocking to our fairs, it looks like Hampstead is the new home for vintage shopping.

Our visitors are now turning to vintage as the perfect addition to their wardrobe. Just add a vintage jacket, scarf or dress to your outfit for that perfect individual vintage look.

Why not pop along for vintage shopping, afternoon tea in the Vintage Tea Parlour, or have a retro vintage makeover at the Beauty Parlour. You never know what hidden treasures you may find there…
