The team behind guilty pleasures told us more...

Guilty Pleasures the all-singing, all-dancing nightclub-come-revue show has been packing in hedonistic music lovers seeking unbridled good fun from what’s on in London’s club world for seven years (which is about 100 in dog years) at the jewel on Camden High Street’s crown, KOKO.

Spurred on by hosting a monthly party under the biggest mirror ball in the capital, the Guilty Pleasures cast bring a rollercoaster of a night out from a parade of djs, dancers, performers, singers and people who are very good at showing off, to guarantee you sore feet in the morning from enthusiastic dancing but a stupidly excellent night out. The perfect place for birthday parties, celebrations or just a right good night out, the refreshingly unpretentious music policy sees a championing of pop, soft rock and disco brought to life in a euphoric spectacle that commands you to DANCE.

Manning the sails, hanging off the rigging and generally larking about on deck are the rag tag of mishaps that make up the ship’s crew:

Captain Birdseye Sean Rowley and his First Mate Dan Hayes will be manning the decks alongside the shanty singing Mermaid Anna Greenwood. Blackbeard’s boys The Dreambears will be dancing a hornpipe or two across the deck, whilst Admiral Father Oates brings his confessional booth aboard. The Ship’s Mast, Lydia Darling the Fire Eating Goddess, comes to life and bewitches all with her saucy sorcery

Up in the crow’s nest, a bunch of stowaways by the name of Sink the Pink have taken over. This rowdy bunch of tearaways will be running amok with their all encompassing, interactive dj dance off and have you rolling about the galley with glee!

Changing themes every month brings different line-ups, acts and unnecessary excuses to buy a preposterous outfit to wear and a stream of somewhat bonkers-dressed sorts emerging from Mornington Crescent tube. So who to be this month – sailor or pirate? Well it depends how well behaved you are…

Perhaps evil is a step too far for pirates, but what with their history of pillage, stealing and general rowdiness they were never going to sit comfortably under the “good” banner were they? As there is a choice of two categories, they’re just going to have to lump it. All that grog-fuelled shanty singing and unkempt hair just doesn’t correspond with the notion of goodness does it? Whereas sailors are always such a nicely turned out lot with their crisp white-cottoned uniform perfectly ironed and hat set just so, meaning grans love them so they are instantly “good”. What gran doesn’t love a perfectly starched white pant we ask you?

So pick your team, get yourself clobbered up accordingly and climb aboard as we weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen on a riotous night out upon the high seas!
