Jasmine Dotiwala (ex-MTV presenter) was a fantastic guide, and had some real insights into the contemporary music scene in Camden. We got a whistle-stop tour of most of the venues along the strip from the Roundhouse all the way down to Koko, and got an anecdote or two at each stop along the way.
Although I know the area well, it gave me quite a few new insights into Camden's musical history, and I very much hope that some way is found to make this a regular happening in the calendar as I'm sure that musical tourists would get a great deal from it, and it would also help to cement Camden's profile as the home of the British music scene.

This walk was so much fun, so entertaining and really interesting to get an insiders view on the music industry. Jasmine Dotiwala gave us some great stories and insight into the music scene in Camden. She threw down a challenge - can anywhere think of another mile of road (from the Roundhouse to Kokos) where there are so many music venues and associations? I doubt it, there is something about Camden. Jazzie B apparently said that Soul 2 Soul could not have happened anywhere else and I make him right. This walk should be done on a regular basis, a great (early) morning out!
