The Good Fashion Show

“Many consumers still have prejudices and simply ‘wrong’ views about what ethical fashion is… the Good Fashion Show is the perfect place for people to discover eco-ethical designers,” says Antoinette Saxer, Founder and Managing Director.

I think it’s safe to say that if you call yourself a Londoner, you have at the very least a passing interest in fashion. Who among you can say you’ve walked down Oxford Street and not enjoyed a quick nosey into one of the high street fashion outlets? Very few, I should think.

So when something that combines fashion and that oh-so fashionable other – ethical living - comes around people can be excused for getting excited.

London House will this Saturday open its doors to press, buyers and the public for the inaugural The Good Fashion Show. The one-day event will feature an eco-ethical fashion emporium with nearly 30 international and UK labels; talks on fashion, ethics, aesthetics and sustainability; as well as a marketplace offering organic and fair-trade delicacies from across the globe.

Visitors can also enjoy an exhibition of more than 100 unique and provocative artworks ranging from fashion photography and illustrations to video installations and pieces of fine art. Plus, the spectacular evening runway show ‘Transformations’ featuring Nancy Sorrell and live performances from the founder of classic nu-soul, Omar and other world class artists. Excited yet?

With celebrity support from the likes of Emma Watson, Lily Cole, Erin O’Connor and Livia Firth, the day-to-day wear of eco-ethical fashion is becoming increasingly prolific and The Good Fashion Show will offer a unique insight into this world by showcasing the very best in established and emerging designers with the unique opportunity of inviting visitors to purchase rare pieces at their own leisure.

At 2pm and 6pm, speakers will present their think-pieces and guide visitors through the world of ethics, aesthetics, sustainability, culture and fashion. Organisers have said the evening runway show ‘Transformations’ will not be just a collaborative catwalk -  it will be innovative, ethical, sustainable and showcase responsibly produced fashion.

With ambitions to grow year-onyear, this first show will offer a unique insight into the world of such a growing industry. Its goal is to create a new platform where public, press and trade can discover and buy the latest responsibly produced fashion from around the globe.
