Food for thought

Sick of spending your lunch hour gazing at your computer screen? Why not try something mind-expanding instead like the UCL lunch hour lectures - the perfect bite sized lecture to fill your lunch time.

Hilary Jackson from UCL fills us in:

If you want to escape work and find out what people who work at universities actually do, then our bite-sized lunchtime lectures are for you.

Each Friday lunchtime, two of UCL's brightest sparks give a short talk about their work. Subjects range from cutting edge neuroscience to classical art, stopping everywhere in between.

Starting at 1.10pm and finishing before 2, the whole talk fits perfectly into your lunchbreak. It's free to come in, there's no need to book and you're welcome to bring your lunch.

You can keep up to date by following us on twitter @BiteSizedUCL or liking our facebook page  You can also see the whole programme on our website ucl.ac.uk

This Friday, art historian Gemma Angel casts some light on history's tattoo collectors, while physicist James Millen explores why you might want to use lasers to cool things down.
