This event is part of UCL's programme of events to mark the Olympics and Paralympics. It has long been understood that our brains have an element of plasticity and are able to change as a result of inputs from the environment. But what role does training – in sports and other areas – have in regulating this ability to change? Professor Heidi Johansen-Berg (University of Oxford Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain) will be in dialogue with Professor Semir Zeki (UCL Neuroesthetics) and other academics from UCL to discuss brain plasticity, its importance and its limitations.
