Simians of Swing is a originals band featuring the music of welsh trumpeter Andy Davies and bassist Lorenzo Bassignani, mixing straight ahead jazz and funk.

Andy Davies is compere of the Ronnie Scotts jam session every Wednesday and has performed with jazz heavy weights such as Ian Shaw, Polly Gibbons, Gary Crosby’s NuTroop, the Ronnie Scotts AllStars and Benet Mclean. He has lead his own groups around the world performing in Japan, American, Dubai, Turkey, Italy, Spain and Portugal where his music was greeted with critical acclaim.

Lorenzo Bassignani is a bass player and composer whose experience range from jazz to funk and gospel and whose collaborations include Polly Gibbons, Ivo Neame, Paul Bartholomew and the Mbawula South African Choir, Zara MacFarlane and Francesco Mendolia.
