Camden Vox: Speed mentoring for Women
In collaboration with Camden Giving, Camden Council’s official celebration of International Women’s Day 2018 will take place on Thursday 8th March.
The morning event will take the format of a speed networking event which will provide an opportunity for young Camden women (aged between 14 and 16) to network with women who have successful careers and either live or work in the borough. 3-4 of these successful women will “host” a table which our young women will spend five minutes at each, being able to ask the women any questions and learning about their career paths. The tables will be grouped around different industries ranging from retail and hospitality to academia and the arts.
We have 50 young women attending and 30 professional women who will be hosting the tables. These women include representatives from the Francis Crick Institute, Google, the British Library, Central Saint Martins, start-ups in the borough along with a range of others. We are looking forward to marking International Women’s Day and providing a great opportunity for the young women of our borough to learn from fellow Camden women.
Watch this for a guest blog by one of the participants looking back over the day and exploring the themes of Camden Vox!
