Bloomsbury Square was developed by the 4th Earl of Southampton in the late 17th century and was initially known as Southampton Square. It is one of the oldest London squares. Bloomsbury Square is located in the south of the borough.
The square is divided by a path into four sections and has a wonderfully kept garden, grass areas and a small children’s playground. Bloomsbury Square is known for having high foot traffic from commuters and London visitors. The square has hosted a variety of activities including community festivals, art showcases, launch events, commercial activities and business away days.
