Parlour Arts will be opening their first exhibition 'The Body Sublime' in Camden next week exploring the themes of the body, beauty and the sublime.

Allow us to introduce ourselves; we are Parlour Arts a small curation group who are only one week away from the opening night of our first exhibition, “The Body Sublime”. This terrifying prospect has not stopped us lining up the best artists and performers to explore our themes of the body, beauty and the Sublime.
We are pleased to present an exhibition featuring the works of Justyna Maluchnik, Thomas Buckley, Sophie Williams, Vincent Moya, Justin Harris, Alexandra Unger, Lisa Chant, Eleanor Macfarlane, Cherelle Sappleton, Younji Ku, Yuko Takemura, Camilla Emson, Lois Cordelia, Dominic Head & Daisy Dixon.
Through photography, painting, film, sculpture, animation, performance and sound, all 14 artists have approached the concept in a novel, imaginative way – appealing to the viewer’s senses and judgement, as they explore the concept through the contours of the body, on both a mental and physical plane. We hope that visitors will engage with the experience of representations, and evoke and encounter similar sentiments of the sublime within.
During the exhibition week there will also be:
- a life drawing class in the gallery space on Wednesday 29 February from 7 to 9pm (£5 entry)
- live performances on Friday 2 March from 6.30pm, featuring Indian dancer Miti Desai and poet Alain English, with further acts to be announced.
The gallery will also be open on Tuesday 28 and Thursday 30 February from 6pm – 9pm and on Saturday 3 March from 12pm-4pm.
The Parlour Gallery is situated 181-187 Queens Crescent, Kentish Town, NW5 4DS. Most importantly admission is free.
